Zay's Spiderman Design

So here is another design for the boys done with the trimmer. For this I don't have much explanation, it's kind of hard to describe. A spider on top and the mask in back. Just start with the body of the spider for the top and the eyes with the back. Follow through line by line! He used this one prior to Halloween, but in my opinion it is cool at any time!

I get excited when I see these pictures! He looks awesome! Lol.

Zay's Muay Thai Design

It's been a while and I think it's about time I put a new style up. I have decided to give this site something you can't find elsewhere, boys hairstyles for biracial (and rather cool) haircuts. I have learned the art of giving a pretty good design using trimmers... And I LOVE it! He is no longer getting fades or being shaved bald. His is pretty simple..... I trimmed in MUAY THAI into his hair and lined him up. For all of you that are clueless to the world of martial arts, it is a form of kick boxing. My son takes after his father and is a martial arts fanatic. Along with superhero characters/logos, this is probably the majority of the designs he will have. ENJOY and try it with whatever design your son will allow!  ;)

Looks pretty cool huh!?!?!?!    :)

Jo's Thanksgiving Mohawk

It's the day before Thanksgiving and I decided to go with the harvest colors for the big day tomorrow!!! I have been in a mohawk mood, so I decided to incorporate that look on Jo again. It can be a trendy Thanksgiving right?!?!? Lol. Well, I hope you enjoy! Here goes the explanation to her look........... I started Jo's mohawk with the front part of her head sectioned straight across from temple to temple. Rubber band that off and move on! Next, I parted her hair into three sections to the back, leaving the middle section larger than the other two. Following that, I took each section and gave five box braids down each row. After the braids, I pulled them into the middle row of box braids. And then, let the sewing begin! This part requires thin ribbon and a plastic yarn needle. I am going to have to better explain sewing at another time so hopefully these pictures will help. Like last time, I flat ironed her hair to give her mohawk length and flow. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

This picture was after the mohawk was set and before I flat ironed her hair.

The finished look from the front!

The back of her head.

The right side of her head. The hair just happened to fall to that side.

This is the look of her hair that was sewed in. Kinda cool looking huh! Fall colors worked well! I was deciding whether or not to cut the ends of the ribbons or to let hem hang. I really liked them hanging, but you can do it anyway you'd like. I also thought about beading the ribbons, but that's a whole other hair style.....

This is the detail of her ribbon work.

Happy thanksgiving!   :)

Ria's Thanksgiving Ponytails

After finishing Jo's mohawk I started in on Ria's hair. Ria being the girly girl she is growing into, was less than enthusiastic about having a mohawk. She wanted ponytails, so ponytails she got!............ I started off with parting her hair from ear to ear and with that section I gave her four boxes. Rubber band those four sections, braid them to the end, and then move on to the rest. I took the middle of the four boxes and continued that part all the way to the back. I wanted to add a little more 'ummph' to her look so I copied the top of her hair to the base by her neck. She had four boxes up top, four on bottom, and then two middle sections. I took the top and bottom two braids and joined them with the middle ponytail. Repeated it on the left. After that was done, it was time to incorporate the Thanksgiving colors and give her hair some flair! I used red, brown, yellow, and orange ribbon and a plastic yarn needle to sew in her look. I'll have to give a details on how to do that at another time, but these pictures should help you! Oh and I followed up with flat ironing her ponytails.  : )  Happy Thanksgiving!

This is her look before her hair was flat ironed.

And this is what her hair looks like lifted up. You can see what her ribbon work looks like from front to back. I decided not to cut off the end of the ribbon and leave them as long as her hair was. You can kind of see the yellow mixed in her loose hair. That's a decision you can make when you try this wonderful style out! Have fun and Happy Thanksgiving!

Jo's Mohawk

I have been in a mohawk mood lately so I will start off with Jo's mohawk. This is one of my favorites and I love her with it. I have pictures of the completed look, so I will do my best to describe what I have done..... First, I took the very front of her hair by her scalp and parted a straight line across her head (temple to temple) and rubber banded that area. Then, I parted her hair into three rows to the back. Next, I took each row and worked them into three box braids. After the braids were made, I joined them into the big box on top. Which led me to have four rubber bands from front to back, down the middle of her head. I followed up by flat ironing the ends to give movement and the result was a trendy mohawk! Easy!

Her mohawk hair style.

The front..... She's thrilled, let me tell ya! Lol.

 And the final product!  :)

And So It Begins!

I have been wanting to make this for so long and I have finally forced myself into finishing this by the end of the year........ So here we are! I love doing hair and creating something different. This blog is here for you to try something new or to incorporate a piece into your own child's hair. I really want for this blog to be fun and enjoyable, I have so much to share! I will try to post styles I already have done daily (or as often as my kids will allow), so bear with me as I navigate my way around and try to give you a blog to share and love. Well,.... ENJOY!
