Ria's Thanksgiving Ponytails

After finishing Jo's mohawk I started in on Ria's hair. Ria being the girly girl she is growing into, was less than enthusiastic about having a mohawk. She wanted ponytails, so ponytails she got!............ I started off with parting her hair from ear to ear and with that section I gave her four boxes. Rubber band those four sections, braid them to the end, and then move on to the rest. I took the middle of the four boxes and continued that part all the way to the back. I wanted to add a little more 'ummph' to her look so I copied the top of her hair to the base by her neck. She had four boxes up top, four on bottom, and then two middle sections. I took the top and bottom two braids and joined them with the middle ponytail. Repeated it on the left. After that was done, it was time to incorporate the Thanksgiving colors and give her hair some flair! I used red, brown, yellow, and orange ribbon and a plastic yarn needle to sew in her look. I'll have to give a details on how to do that at another time, but these pictures should help you! Oh and I followed up with flat ironing her ponytails.  : )  Happy Thanksgiving!

This is her look before her hair was flat ironed.

My sassy daughter with her Thanksgiving style.

The back of her head.

Her right side.

This is her hair from the top of her head.

And this is what her hair looks like lifted up. You can see what her ribbon work looks like from front to back. I decided not to cut off the end of the ribbon and leave them as long as her hair was. You can kind of see the yellow mixed in her loose hair. That's a decision you can make when you try this wonderful style out! Have fun and Happy Thanksgiving!
